It’s clear it, the car has had its decorative panels removed from the rocker and its tires and wheels changed to Sparco alloys encased with off-road tires, and that’s not all of it. When speaking to Grassroots Motorsport, the man behind the project, Joel Gat, explains why he picked Miata Miata: “I travel to a lot of mountain events and trailheads, and I prefer to have something fun to drive. What good is a fun Miata for 90 percent of the trip if it won’t take me the last 10 percent of the way, though?” This is a decent approach to look at it, however, we’re assuming that 90% of the trip is quieter than normal, since the cutting blade is in operation in the car.

Its 27″ Falken tires assist with clearance on the ground, however, Gat admits that it’s an arduous driving experience on trails: “I was wishing for AWD in a few spots.” However, overall the Miata is a great car. Gat adds: “Turns out that despite all the Jeepers’ complaints, this part of the trail had two tough obstacles for me, and the rest was just a little finesse.” It appears that the Miata is truly flexible, even in places you would least expect to see it.
