The new report isn’t a huge departure from the information we’ve been hearing. Numerous rumors throughout the years have suggested 2022 as the year that Mazda will launch its RWD Mazda sedan. The Mazda6 speculations were in line with reports that the car would be equipped with new engines inline-six, which were also speculated to be coming into production in the next year. Mazda released a teaser of the new engine along with other powertrains in the latter half of 2020.

If the brand new Mazda6 arrives and is released, it will carry the world a totally new look. The Spyder7 report claims that the car will draw inspiration for its styling in Mazda’s Vision Coupe Concept, which was an open-air car that had a ridiculously long hood and sleek greenhouse. The car is said to have a brand new grille design that will be the next trend in styling for the company, along with having an H-shaped diffuser. In contrast to the concept Mazda6, the Mazda6 will have seating for five people.
2022 Mazda6 Specs & Engine
Mazda’s powertrain line-up will comprise the 3.0-liter six-cylinder diesel inline engine coupled to the 48-volt mild hybrid system. The gasoline-powered inline-six is likely to be hybrid. Spyder7 also claims about the possibility that Mazda6 will also come with a plug-in hybrid as well as an all-electric version later on in its lifecycle. It’s not known if the rear-wheel-drive Mazda6 will be sold in the US since the automaker had announced earlier in the year that the sedan, as well as the CX-3, will not be offered within the US. But, the new Mazda6 could bring the model’s triumphant return.
