2023 Mazda CX-50 Coupe SUV – Mazda has a quest to get into the premium segment and compete with the models of BMW, Mercedes, and Lexus. According to the Australian publication Wheels that the initial of these high-end models will come in the CX-50 A stylish coupe-style crossover built on a rear-wheel-drive platform dubbed the FR Large Architecture and take upon Lexus’ BMW X4. It will be an expensive alternative to the current Mazda CX-5. It won’t take too long to test it either, since the report states that the CX-50 will be revealed in November, in the 2021 Los Angeles Auto Show as well as the Tokyo Motor Show.

As per the news report, Mazda’s latest premium coupe vehicle will come with either the 3.0-liter fuel or diesel engine and possibly twin-turbocharging and turbocharging. These inline-six motors will be powered by an electric battery of 48 volts and mild-hybrid technology and will come with a brand new torque-converter eight-speed auto transmission that will deliver energy to rear wheels or all four. The plug-in hybrid model is also expected to be offered with Mazda’s existing 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that will enable the Japanese model to compete against those of Toyota RAV4 Hybrid and Prime.

Redesign

Comparatively to the CX-5 The CX-50 will be a bit different. CX-50 is slightly taller and has a slimmer appearance thanks to its longitudinal engine arrangement. A Mazda insider shared how “rear-drive, from a styling point of view, lends itself to enhancing the Kodo design language of traditional long- bonnet/cab-rearward design.”
